Bereavement Resources

Center for Loss & Life Transition

The Center for Loss and Life Transition is dedicated to furthering their understanding of — and compassion for — the complex set of emotions called grief.  Their mission is to help both the bereaved, by walking with them in their unique life journeys, and bereavement caregivers, by serving as their educational liaison and professional forum.

Odyssey Hospice

Odyssey is one of the largest hospice providers in the country, offering end-of-life care and support to thousands of patients and their families across the country.  They provide what is called palliative care to the patient.  That is, care that helps ease pain and discomforting symptoms.  In addition, they provide psycho-social and spiritual support for both patients and their loved ones.

Bereaved Families Online Support Center

Bereaved Families dedicates their work to bereavement support through self-help and mutual aid.  Their programs are facilitated by trained volunteers who are themselves bereaved.  Volunteer health professionals support the facilitators and advise their programs.  Each year, on behalf of Bereaved Families, over 1,000 volunteers contribute to helping the healing begin.

National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization

The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) is the largest nonprofit membership organization representing hospice and palliative care programs in the United States.  The organization is committed to improving end of life care and expanding access to hospice care with the goal of profoundly enhancing quality of life for people dying in America and their loved ones.

Grief, Loss, & Recovery

Grief, Loss, & Recovery offers emotional support and friendship and provides a safe haven for bereaved persons to share their grief.  This is a safe place for people to mourn.
